THE PERSIAN SPEAKING ONLINE OA INTERGROUP HAS REACHED ITS  1000th MEETING AND WE CELEBRATE IT

We are proud to announce that the Persian-speaking Online OA Intergroup has reached its 1000th meeting — a significant milestone that reflects the persistence, growth, and commitment of our community members.

Since its inception, this intergroup has strived to address the diverse needs of its members by organizing a variety of meetings, thereby avoiding monotony in compulsive eating and providing a safe, supportive environment for all OA minorities.

To date, the following meetings have been held:

Lifeline: With 382 meetings since its launch on October 4, 2017 (12 Mehr 1396), it stands as one of the foundational pillars of the intergroup.

Purpose: To establish the connection between abstinence and daily living. Participants learn how to extend the principles of abstinence beyond food or behavior to various aspects of life, including family and social relationships, work, emotional, and spiritual matters.

Twelfth Step: Initiated on June 9, 2023 (19 Khordad 1402), with 145 meetings held so far.

Purpose: To support members experiencing relapse.

Focus Group: Established on August 6, 2023 (15 Mordad 1402), with 98 meetings to date.

Purpose: To provide support for members who are less visible within the fellowship.

Newcomers: Since May 31, 2023 (11 Khordad 1402), with 110 meetings focused on welcoming new members and guiding them through the early stages of recovery.

Purpose: To address the three main questions newcomers often have: choosing a sponsor, establishing a food plan, and becoming familiar with OA literature.

Planning: With 109 meetings since June 3, 2023 (13 Khordad 1402), helping members strengthen their recovery through writing and structured planning.

Purpose: To promote members’ growth through regular workshops.

Inner Child/Adolescent: Since May 26, 2023 (5 Khordad 1402), with 110 meetings dedicated to connecting with the wounded inner child and supporting inner healing.

Purpose: To assist every inner child or adolescent who seeks to avoid self-harm through food.

Youth: The newest intergroup meeting, started on August 21, 2024 (30 Mordad 1403), with 46 meetings held so far.

Purpose: To provide a safe and supportive space for young OA members.

All of these meetings have been conducted with the dedication and service of volunteer members, focusing on recovery and the principles of OA.

Reaching 1000 meetings is not only a proud achievement for the active members of this intergroup but also a testament to the strength of the program and the collective effort in creating lasting change in people’s lives.

With hope for a continued bright path ahead, we sincerely thank every member, servant, and newcomer who has contributed to building this community.
