News Report on Recent Developments within the Persian-Speaking OA Community

The Persian-speaking community of Overeaters Anonymous is pleased to announce several significant developments that mark an important phase of growth and strengthened service. The Language Service Board (LSB) has officially been formed and has begun its full range of activities, establishing a solid framework for organizing, supporting, and expanding OA services in Persian.
A major milestone has also been reached in the area of literature. The complete translation of all core OA publications into Persian has been finalized and the materials are now in preparation for printing and member use. The translated works include Beyond Our Wildest Dreams (#998), Body Image, Relationships, and Sexuality (#950), For Today (#984), For Today Workbook (#974), Overeaters Anonymous, Third Edition (#980), Diverse Voices: A Common Solution (#954), Voices of Recovery (#986), and the Voices of Recovery Workbook (#996). This achievement greatly enhances access to foundational recovery resources for Persian-speaking members.
The Young Adults group (#8015140) has completed its reading circle dedicated to Body Image, Relationships, and Sexuality(#950). Participants explored themes such as body image, self-acceptance, emotional and relational health, and the ways in which compulsive food behaviors affect interpersonal connection. The shared discussions emphasized the importance of compassion toward oneself, the development of healthy intimacy, healing from shame around body and identity, and applying Twelve Step principles to foster balanced and meaningful relationships.
In another step forward, the English section of the website oapersian.org has been activated to facilitate easier access for members who do not speak Persian. This update strengthens communication between the Persian-speaking fellowship and the global OA community by providing essential information, service structure details, and recovery resources in English.
Finally, the community has launched its new monthly online recovery publication, Shoogh-e Parhiz, available on oapersian.org. This digital magazine is designed to inspire and support members through shared experience, strength, and hope, as well as to provide educational content that enriches the recovery journey.
