Charitable Incorporated Organisation Trustee

JOB DESCRIPTION

“Are you organised, responsible and willing to do “nuts and bolts” work that keeps OA Region 9 legally compliant and able to function financially?”

We are looking for a fellow willing and able to act in the capacity of trustee for the OA Region 9 Charitable Incorporated Organisation which is the legal entity that provides due diligence for the banking of the Region and acts as “banker” monitoring income and making payments according to the Budget set by the Assembly.

You would join the board of 3 trustees who work together, a little like a committee, to manage the banking and accounts on behalf of Region 9. The Charitable Incorporated Organisation trustees are appointed by the Region Assembly and act in the best interest of the Region as a whole.

We would encourage anyone who feels called to apply for this position, who meets the criteria (see below), to get in touch with us. You can email oaregion9cio@gmail.com with any questions you have. Although this role lends itself towards the more organised, mature and diligent type of person; we would provide you all the support you need if you felt unsure.

The workload is relatively low (we meet for 1 hour every other month and it should be not more than 3 hours per week on average should you get involved in banking transactions). The responsibility level is relatively high, your name appears listed on the Charities Commission website and the trustees of the Charitable Incorporated Organisation are ultimately responsible and accountable for ensuring we submit our returns and reports on time.

Requirements of a good candidate:

  • · Has attended at least one previous Region 9 Assembly
  • · Has at least one year of current abstinence
  • · Demonstrates service to OA
  • · Can respond promptly to requests.
