A Message from Region 9 Trustee Liaison
Dear Region 9 Fellowship,
I hope this message finds you well and that your service continues to be a source of gratitude and growth. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each of you for the time, energy, and dedication you offer in carrying the OA message throughout our Region. The work of our trusted servants, often carried out quietly and behind the scenes, helps make recovery available to countless compulsive eaters.
As part of our shared commitment to OA and to the agreements that support our collective efforts, I would like to offer a gentle reminder regarding the royalties clause contained in Article 7 of License 2, “Agreement to Publish/Distribute OA Literature.” Under this agreement, service bodies that publish and/or distribute OA literature commit to returning 10 percent of their annual net income from literature sales to the World Service Office (WSO).
License 2 is a legal agreement that service bodies enter into voluntarily, and, as such, it is important that its provisions are honored. Fulfilling this commitment reflects the principles of unity, honesty, and responsibility that guide our Fellowship and our service.
If your service body distributes OA literature, would you please take a moment to verify whether royalties have been paid for the current year and, if applicable, for previous years as well? If you discover that payments have not yet been made, I kindly encourage you to arrange for them to be submitted and to establish a process for reviewing and remitting royalties on an annual basis.
The royalties generated through OA literature help support the work of the World Service Office and contribute to carrying the message of recovery to compulsive eaters around the world. By honoring these commitments, we strengthen the bonds of trust within our Fellowship and help ensure that OA literature remains available to those who seek recovery.
