Application for Open Positions

WSBC Delegate

Name: NP
Years in OA: 13

Brief account of your OA story:
I came into OA soon after my 21st birthday; I was broken and lost and found a love here like never before. I found a new acceptance of all parts of myself, though not without challenge and internal struggle. I commenced doing service soon after joining, in the role of Secretary and then key holder. I represented at Paris IG and later took on further IG service at OA SAEEIG for a number of years. I have continued to serve within groups through my recovery and have sponsored since my first year in recovery. It is a privilege to give away what I have freely been given, and I do this with a grateful heart.

R9 Board as Exec Secretary 2022-2023
R9 Board as Vice Chair 2023-present
R9 Active Outreach Committee 2023-present

Business and/or professional skills, or other experience/skills that you can bring to the Board:

Creative problem solver
Compassionate and patient of different opinions
Tolerant and flexible in my approach
I work in financial supervision – my attention to detail
I am good at managing competing demands
I competently serve within the board, where I am most needed

Why do you want to be a WSBC delegate?:

It would be my privilege to amplify and better represent the voice of Region 9 in the worldwide fellowship of OA. I hope to use my position to better represent the needs of our diverse and richly valued fellowship. I am grateful for what I have gained here and am keen to keep giving back and this would further grow my service experience to better support the Chair in my current role.
