Delegates – Jose M (Chema)

The Assembly will be held on the 18th of May from 2 pm to 7 pm UK time

Since being elected as a delegate alongside my peers, for me everything has been preparation for the upcoming OA World Assembly, World Service Business Conference 2025.

The first thing I did was complete my registration and fill out the necessary forms.

So far, I’ve been reading the Assembly documents as they’ve been published, planning how I’ll connect to the virtual meetings, and figuring out how to balance them with my work schedule. For me, the Assembly meetings start right at or just before the end of my workday. As I work from home, there wont be problems for me to attend the meetings.

I’m looking into getting a printed copy of the binder so I don’t have to use two monitors—keeping the binder open on one and the zoom meeting on the other. This way, I can move around during the meeting and find a more comfortable spot, especially since the sessions will be very long. Since I already work eight hours a day in front of a computer, I’d prefer to step away from my usual desk to protect my back.

Aside from that, I’ve attended various committee meetings, such as the Digital Committee and the Nuts & Bolts Committee, to stay updated on everything happening in the region.
