Bylaws Committee Chair Report Annual Assembly 2026

The Assembly will be start at 8am on Wednesday 30th of September, in order to feel refreshed we enourage members to arrive Tuesday 29th of September in the late afternoon or early evening. The assembly will finish around 4pm on Friday 2nd October 2026. Convention will then start on Friday 2nd October 2026 in the early evening and finish no later than 2pm on Sunday 4th October 2026.

This year has been a brilliant year for the bylaws committee. I would like to start by saying a massive thank you to the fellows who have given service in the committee. There has been a really strong core group that have met every other week (with a couple of extra meetings thrown in) throughout the year. We have looked in detail line by line at the Policy and Procedure Manual and made changes with the board to all of the articles of it which needed to be changed to bring it up to date.
This has now been submitted to the board for inclusion in the assembly this year and it will hopefully be agreed to by the assembly and we can move on to other tasks next year. We have also worked through the motions that were sent back from World Service Business Conference last year as they needed splitting and clarifying. Again these have been submitted to assembly for adoption or refusal this year. There are a few bits of the governance that need attention, so we will look at what to work on next year with the new committee after assembly. This doesn’t feel like a long report to show the volume of work that has been achieved by the fellows who have so wonderfully and dedicatedly given service on this committee, but hopefully people will want to join us to find out more!
