We are currently working our way, line by line, through the policy manual. It is to ensure that the policy manual is as streamlined and fit for purpose as possible. So far there have been several sections where great debate has ensued – for example: How the Charitable Incorporated Organisation fits into the policy manual and the wider workings of OA Region 9; How to label the different groups of fellows that attend Region 9 Assembly; timeframes for reports and motions and abstinence levels for service. Once this process is completed, we will be taking the new version of the policy manual to the annual assembly this year to get a group conscience on it. We are hoping to have the new one in place with any amendments for service the following year. We are about a third of the way through so far, but we are getting in the groove of the work now – so hopefully some of the debates we have had already will help us to speed up the process for the rest of the year. Whilst we are a small and mighty group at the moment, if anyone would like to get involved in this committee, to give service, you would be very welcome.
