Definition Of A Prudent Reserve

“ A Prudent Reserve is an amount of money set aside so the Region 9 service body can function if its income falls below expectations. ”
According to Concept 12, section (b), “Sufficient operating funds plus an ample reserve, shall be OA’s prudent financial principle”
According to Region 9 Policies and Procedures Appendix 1 Article VIII – Financial Structure
8. Where funds permit, Region 9 should have a prudent reserve equal to (1) years standard costs. The standard costs are to be determined and updated annually by the Treasurer together with all other Board members, and included and explained in the budget to be presented to Region 9 Assembly each year. The formula for setting the standard costs is to be reviewed by the Board annually, and the Assembly every four years.
Setting the Prudent Reserves involves:
Deciding what standard (or operating) costs should be included when calculating the “Prudent Reserve”.

2) Board travel to Region 9 Assembly and Convention
3) Region 9 Assembly Parliamentarian
4) Region 9 Delegates to World Service Business Conference
5) Trustee nominee travel to World Service Business Conference when required
6) Representative Support Fund
7) Website host; domain, subscriptions and Zoom
8) Bank Charges
9) Accountancy Fees
