The Assembly will be start at 8am on Wednesday 30th of September, in order to feel refreshed we enourage members to arrive Tuesday 29th of September in the late afternoon or early evening. The assembly will finish around 4pm on Friday 2nd October 2026. Convention will then start on Friday 2nd October 2026 in the early evening and finish no later than 2pm on Sunday 4th October 2026.

Motion: Move to amend OA Bylaws, Article VIII — Meetings of Delegates, Section 8 – Business Agenda, point c, by striking, inserting and relettering:

Section 8 – Business Agenda
- New business to be placed on the agenda prior to Conference shall follow the same procedure for submission as for Bylaw Amendments and shall be approved by 50 percent of all intergroups and service boards responding to an Agenda Questionnaire by sixty days prior to the Conference. Other new business of an urgent nature must receive a majority vote of the Reference Subcommittee in order to be brought to the Conference floor.

INTENT: To split up the long section to make it easier to read and understand for those for whom English is a second language.
IMPLEMENTATION: Update the bylaw.
COST: Staff Time, minor additional administrative hours to review and update.
HOW DOES THIS MOTION SUPPORT OA’S PRIMARY PURPOSE? It ensures that the bylaws are accessible to all members of the fellowship, regardless of their primary language.
RATIONALE: This motion improves readability by splitting a long bylaw section into shorter, clearer parts. This is especially helpful for members whose first language is not English, members using translation tools, and members who benefit from simpler formatting. The motion does not change the meaning of the bylaw. It makes the bylaw easier to understand, supporting wider participation and helping members engage more fully in OA service.
