MOTION 1
The Assembly will be start at 8am on Wednesday 30th of September, in order to feel refreshed we enourage members to arrive Tuesday 29th of September in the late afternoon or early evening. The assembly will finish around 4pm on Friday 2nd October 2026. Convention will then start on Friday 2nd October 2026 in the early evening and finish no later than 2pm on Sunday 4th October 2026.

Motion: Move to adopt “__” as the official slogan of OA Region 9.

Intent: To adopt “__” as the official slogan of OA Region 9 using the process fill in the blank.
Under Robert’s Rules, you use the “filling blanks” procedure when you want to decide the general question but give the assembly greater control over an element of the motion. You introduce the motion with a blank—for instance, “I move that OA Region 9 adopt ‘__’ as its official slogan.”
Implementation
- If this motion is approved, all official Region 9 documents, website pages, and communication materials will be updated to display the slogan “_.”
- An announcement article will be published via the Region 9 News and announcements: We are proud to introduce “_” as the official slogan of OA Region 9.
- Any future printed or digital materials (flyers, banners, slide decks, etc.) will incorporate the new slogan where appropriate.
Cost: £0 in direct expenses. Updates will be handled by the Digital Committee using existing resources.
Rationale:
- Unity: An official slogan will help focus our values and foster a shared sense of belonging.
- Impact: A single, memorable slogan sharpens our outreach focus.
- Consistency: Establishing one official slogan ensures cohesive messaging across all Region 9 activities and materials.
Motion Review Committee Comments: As per the motion from Annual Assembly 2025, only the top 3 options from the slogan survey will be permitted and all other options will be ruled out of order by the chair.
The three options (in alphabetical order) are:

- Recovery Without Borders
- Together We Recover
