Region 9 Secretary’s End-of-Year Report
The Assembly will be start at 8am on Wednesday 30th of September, in order to feel refreshed we enourage members to arrive Tuesday 29th of September in the late afternoon or early evening. The assembly will finish around 4pm on Friday 2nd October 2026. Convention will then start on Friday 2nd October 2026 in the early evening and finish no later than 2pm on Sunday 4th October 2026.

Dear Region 9 Trusted Servants and Fellows,
It has been a privilege to serve as the Secretary of Region 9 during this service year. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to our fellowship and to work alongside so many dedicated trusted servants.
Throughout the year, I carried out my responsibilities to the best of my ability, including preparing and distributing meeting minutes.
This service year was particularly challenging due to the circumstances in Iran. For several months, widespread internet disruptions made it impossible for me to communicate consistently or fulfil some of my service responsibilities in a timely manner. Despite these difficulties, I try my best to remain connected with the Region.
Unfortunately, I was also unable to attend the Region 9 Assembly in person and also the Spring Assembly virtually because I could not obtain a visa in time. I deeply regret missing the opportunity to participate, meet fellow trusted servants, and contribute directly to the Assembly’s work. Nevertheless, I remained committed to supporting the Region from afar as much as circumstances allowed.
Despite the distance and the challenges, I never felt alone. The greatest gift I received during this service was not the experience of being a secretary—it was learning from all of you. Throughout this year, I learned something far more valuable than administrative skills. From the members of Region 9, I learned the true spirit of unity, unconditional love, mutual support, trust, patience, humility, acceptance, and selfless service. You showed me that OA’s spiritual principles are not merely words in our literature—they are lived every day through your actions, your compassion, and your commitment to one another.
Your compassion and willingness to support one another, regardless of nationality, language, or background, have deeply inspired me. Your kindness, encouragement, and understanding during difficult times reminded me that we truly recover and serve together. These lessons will remain with me long after my service term has ended, and I will carry them into every future service opportunity.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Region Chair, Board members, Trustee Liaison, committee chairs, delegates, and all trusted servants for their patience, understanding, cooperation, and support throughout this challenging year.
Serving Region 9 has been both an honor and a valuable learning experience. I appreciate the trust that was placed in me and hope that my service has contributed, even in a small way, to carrying OA’s message of recovery to the still-suffering compulsive overeater.
Thank you for allowing me to serve.
May our Higher Power continue to guide Region 9, strengthen our unity, and help us carry the message of recovery to the compulsive overeater who still suffers.
