This is my second year as Service, Traditions and Concepts committee chair, I feel humble and incredible grateful of this service and being able to share the enthusiasm and excitement of the amazing fellows I have the luck to work with. Part of my service as chair of the committee is to report what we are doing to the assembly and to our region, I will try my best here.
We made a beautifully shared leading workshop in the French convention 2025 after the region 9 assembly about Service Structure and how OA service works. Personally, I felt blessed to share the leading with my committee fellows, I think it enriched not only the workshop but the whole experience.
After the assembly some other fellows decided to join the committee too, it has been tough to find a moment to meet all together even now it is complicated and most of the meetings has been just with part of us, but we are encouraging and willing and it is working the best we can.
In our first meeting I was prepared to analysed the Service structure workshop and ask for opinions, possible changes and keep on going in that direction, but the group conscience drove us in a new direction, we have never made the full workshop (which is designed as a three days’ workshop), and we had always focus in the first part but… what about the rest? The traditions and the concepts were not in the floor yet.
Aligning ourselves with one of the world service committees, we decided to focus in Concepts this year and this are the action lines we are working on:
- Reviewing the part of the workshop about concepts and making it more accessible and shorter.
- Call for sharings about how we use any concept in OA and outside OA, to use them as examples in the workshop and collecting them to maybe send them to the world service office for a possible new edition of the pamphlet about the service concepts.
- Creating two games to learn about the service concepts and their spiritual principles having fun, that we could play in conventions and meeting. This particular goal is paused right now because of life issues, but not forgotten.
