OA Trustee Vacancy Announced: Apply to Region 9 by May 31st 2025
The Chair, Board and Trustee Liason of Region 9 have asked that you consider running as a World Service Trustee.
In accordance with OA Bylaws, Subpart B, the OA Board of Trustees has declared a vacancy for a trustee position and will accept new applications for this service role now through June 12. OA Region 9 has set a deadline of May 31st for applications.
After the June 12 deadline, the board of Region 9 will consider all applicants in accoradance with the Region 9 Bylaws and submmit all those applications it endorses, the Board of Trustees at the World Service level will then appoint one qualified applicant to serve as trustee from June 2025 through the end of next year’s World Service Business Conference in April 2026 from any applications submmitted from our Region and any other Region. The appointed trustee will receive ongoing mentorship from a trustee currently serving on the board.

As of May 10, 2025, there is one vacancy on the Board of Trustees. In accordance with the Bylaws of Overeaters Anonymous, the Board of Trustees has chosen to receive applications to appoint a qualified member to serve through World Service Business Conference 2026. To best serve OA as a whole, it is important to make this appointment as quickly as possible.
Basic qualifications for a trustee are:
- seven years in the Fellowship
- five years of service beyond the meeting level, including at least two years of service as a region representative, region committee chair, region board member, region trustee liaison, or having served as a board member of a national service board
- attendance as a delegate to at least two World Service Business Conferences
- five years of recovery in Overeaters Anonymous.
