Service Coordinators – Bylaws

The Assembly will be held on the 18th of May from 2 pm to 7 pm UK time

At the 2024 Assembly we discussed and voted on many motions. Most of them related to cleaning up the Bylaws and Policy Manual and reorganizing them. Perhaps the most significant motion we adopted was to establish the Spring Assembly, which gives us an opportunity to meet twice a year.

We also adopted a motion that enables the Region 9 Board to submit motions directly to the Assembly. This means that some of the motion’s Representatives will be discussing and voting on at the Assembly will be submitted by the Board and others by the Nuts and Bolts Committee.

This year the Nuts and Bolts Committee are considering several motions. Please note that the updated Bylaws and Policy Manual are now available on the Region 9 website and Region 9 Service Bodies can read them or download them as they wish.

We discovered one motion that was not completed last year concerning the Trustee nomination process and will complete our work and submit the motion to the Annual Region 9 Assembly in Paris.

We are now working on creating two new policies which will formally cover in policy what we are already doing:

• Policy for financial support for Region 9 Service Bodies to send Delegates to attend the World Service Business Conference when held in person. This is somewhat complicated as Region 9 is supplementing the World Service Office delegate support fund and we have to comply with the World Service Office policy and rules.
• Policy for financial support for Region 9 Service Bodies to send Representatives to attend the Region 9 Assembly in person.

We may work on other issues that may come up during the year and will support the Board if they wish us to consider any motions being processed by the Board.
