Region 9 Assembly

Board Reports

Vice Chair

It has been a privilege to serve as your Region 9 Vice Chair since our previous assembly (2023). At that time, I was your Executive Secretary, and gladly so. As Vice Chair, I committed to become more proficient at having a working knowledge of our bylaws and policies and procedures, so that I could best serve our region. I also committed to do my part in furthering our outreach in areas of our region where we are most needed, and often least accessible (this remains a work in progress, as it should).

I set about reading our Bylaws and Policies and Procedures and remain an active member of our Active Outreach Committee, reaching out to, and staying in contact with various representatives in different countries. I have continued to be a point of contact for some of these fellows when discussing translations and the importance and significance of our Assembly.

One of my first, and continued tasks, has been to work closely with our current Chair, to ensure that she is well supported. I have had the opportunity also, to be the liaison with our 2024 hosts (our Greek National Service Board), in arrangements for the assembly and convention. I am soon to become a Trustee for our CIO alongside our other valued trustees, whereby we will be ensuring that policies and guidance best serve the work that we do in Region 9.

I remain committed to serving our fellowship in the most loving, fair, action and change-focused way. I am often humbled by our Region, aware that making our program of recovery accessible (from a linguistic, technological, cultural and financial perspective) is an essential area of focus, especially for such a rich and diverse Region. Inclusion, representation and visibility are all vital to recovery and a healthy fellowship and Region, and it is my honour to be able to champion this as best I can, in facilitating a safe space for people to come as they are, wherever they are.

I am forever grateful for the love that I find in fellowship here and look forward to continuing to serve our Region as best I can. This year has been one of asking ‘where do you [Region 9] need me most?’ and trusting that as long as I am willing, my HP and my fellows will ensure I am equipped. Thank you for being a part of carrying the hope; together we truly can.

With love and immense gratitude,
Natasha P
