Banker

I have held the role of Banker for Region 9 since 2019.

The role was created as the Nat West bank account for Region 9 is based in the UK and came with a requirement that signatories need to be UK citizens.

In addition to the UK account Region 9 also have a PayPal account.

The main responsibilities of the role are to:

• Issue receipts and thank you notes to individuals, groups and service boards who email me or the treasurer advising us of their payment
• Pay bills and expenses that have been approved by 2 Region 9 board members
• Track and categorise income and expenditure for the year on a shared spreadsheet
• At the end of the financial year reconcile all entries against the account balances to ensure all funds are accounted for. The next job is for the Region 9 Treasurer to summarise the year’s financial activity and prepare the next budget.

I am stepping down as banker at this year’s Regional Assembly. It is a lovely service role that I have enjoyed undertaking. It is about 4 hours a month and double that at the end of the financial year.
